Vote today! Best of Boudoir – 2009

2009 was a fantastic year for Unveiled Portraits Boutique Boudoir Photography! I photographed more than 60 girls this year – making it really hard for me to select the best images for voting.

One factor that played into the presentation of the finalists was their privacy release. I offer my girls the option to choose either a full-release or a partial-release. The full-release allows me to use images with the subject’s likeness on my website, blog – pretty much anywhere. The partial-release allows me to use images without showing any identifying features of the client… many of my partial-release clients have some beautifully sexy images – most of which I cannot post on the blog or in the contest because it shows their face. So to help show off some stellar images, even those with partial-release, I decided to split the finalists into eight categories.

Check out the eight different categories for the Best of Boudoir 2009. Select your favorite image by clicking corresponding number in the poll directly below the candidates and then hit VOTE. You can vote once per day and voting ends February 12 at midnight. Votes found in the comment area will not be counted.

First place winners in each category will receive a free 8×10 of their image and the winner of the Best of the Best and Steamiest categories will win a 16×20 gallery matted print.

Thank you so much for voting on the Best of Boudoir 2009! I am so thrilled with the collection of gorgeous images and the beautiful women that are pictured within them.

To make sure your favorite image is the winner you can vote again tomorrow! In addition, check out the Wisconsin Bride Best of 2010. Vote for your favorite vendor in each category – you need to enter at least 6 vendors for your vote to count, Ardent Photography would love your vote!

Little black books for the gift of boudoir…

All of my boudoir sessions come with credit to purchase a little black book or prints. I’ve had a few inquiries wondering about what my albums look like. They are discrete, simple and sexy… I offer an array of products besides albums – including some new products just in time for this month’s boutique boudoir fund raising event in Milwaukee and Appleton.

Just imagine your guy opening a high gloss book with images of sexy little you! The 8×8 books are discrete enough for him to place in night stand drawer and the 5×5 books are small enough for him to pack for those business trips.

a FAQ on boudoir photography…

I recently got an email from a prospective boudoir client… I thought I’d share both the question and my answer for you all…

I am interested in getting some pictures taken for my husband. I am wondering if you can explain how your boudoir photography process works. How long does it take to get the photos, and also if you could provide a pricing list for the pictures. Do you have a gallery of your photos?

Thank you,
J.

What a great gift idea for your husband!!! Boudoir photography is fun and quite easy. You select your day/time/city and schedule a time slot. I shoot sessions at boutique hotels in the Milwaukee and Appleton areas.

You can bring up to 3 outfits/looks for a full session or just one outfit for the mini-session. I suggest getting your hair and makeup done, or at least do each like a pro. It really helps bring out your features in the photos.

When you arrive we plan the order of your outfits and we shoot for about 1.5 hours. Usually my assistant Natalie is there to help with lighting and such. I provide necklaces and some accessories so you don’t have to buy everything brand new.

Your proofs are ready in about 14 days… the first 7 days that your proofs are online you are eligible for a 20% off discount on prints. You get a $135 product credit with your full-session ($25 for each mini-session) which will cover the cost of a 10 image 5×5 Little Black Book.

Once you place your order I retouch all of the images that you selected and place your order. It takes about 3-4 weeks for the orders to be full-filled. I usually suggest getting photographed up to 8 weeks before you need your photographs for gifting.

(For a sample gallery and full price list please contact me directly… Thanks!)

Sneak peak… Miss J

Boudoir at the Green Bay wedding show…

Last week I brought Unveiled Portraits boutique boudoir photography to the public at the Hotel Sierra Wedding Show in Green Bay, WI. This was my first bridal show for Unveiled and we took it by storm! I had lots of visitors and generated a lot of interest. It amazed me how many visitors have never heard of boudoir photography! I was well received by brides and their fiancés as well as mothers-of-the-bride and bridesmaids.

My booth included two larger than life metallic prints, a hanging metal banner, two end tables filled with sample items and boudoir promo pieces and the furniture from my Ardent Photography studio. It was a ton of work to pull off this custom booth and all of the items that went into it. I want to thank my Assistant Photographer, Natalie, who  helped prepare for the booth, help move all of the heavy furniture and help answer questions all night. I also want to thank an extraordinary florist, Ross of Marshall Florist, for the beautiful fresh floral arrangement.

Enjoy…

I still have availability for both my Milwaukee and Appleton October sessions. I will donate $10 for every mini-session and $20 for every full-session as well as a percentage of the session sales to the Pink Initiative. Help me raise $1000 and book your session today!
