I wanted to share a few images from a recent Film Noir Boudoir session. I call all of my after sundown photos “Film Noir” because they are sans-sunlight. I use studio strobe lights which yield a more dramatic light and shadow look, a different look than the even and bright natural light shots I get during the daytime.

I get lots of questions about my version of Film Noir and hopefully the following images can give you a glimpse of my studio lighting and “after dark” boudoir photography.

Drew is holding the keys to my new studio space!

I am super excited to announce that Unveiled Portraits now has a dedicated boudoir photography studio in Milwaukee’s Third Ward! The space is amazing! Beautiful light, cream city brick and lots of space for shooting. I will be decorating the studio as if it were an upscale boutique hotel with the addition of the versatility of a professional photography studio.

Along with the new boudoir studio I am planning new and exciting offerings to make your boudoir photography experience the best it can be. Including a V.I.P. program and professional make-up and photo styling.

I just got the keys… I will be moving into the space in the next few weeks. Upcoming Milwaukee sessions will be shot in this totally awesome dedicated boudoir photo studio!

We are now officially sold out for our pre-scheduled shoots for the month of May and June. I am looking at adding another few boudoir sessions in Milwaukee on June 10th. A bit later I will be giving a full blog post on my recent speaking engagement on Boudoir Photography to the Professional Photographers of Michigan. I had a wonderful time speaking and leading a hands-on boudoir demonstration to a group of 50 professional photographers. Not only will I be doing a presentation but I will also be holding a demo of boudoir photography. Of course I’m a bit nervous – traveling to Michigan with a newborn baby… I have never done speaking at this level before… but who knows – I would love to do more speaking events on boudoir photography and how it has transformed me as a professional photographer.

Unveiled Portraits and Ardent Photography will no longer be sharing the proof site. The new site still uses the amazing Instaproofs proofing software but no longer has the Ardent Photography branding.

In other news… I will soon be a featured photographer on the Instaproofs website! This is on the heels of some amazing news for Unveiled Portraits! More on that at a later date….

I will announce the results of the Best of Boudoir 2009 contest on Valentine’s Day! Thank you to all who voted!

One factor that played into the presentation of the finalists was their privacy release. I offer my girls the option to choose either a full-release or a partial-release. The full-release allows me to use images with the subject’s likeness on my website, blog – pretty much anywhere. The partial-release allows me to use images without showing any identifying features of the client… many of my partial-release clients have some beautifully sexy images – most of which I cannot post on the blog or in the contest because it shows their face. So to help show off some stellar images, even those with partial-release, I decided to split the finalists into eight categories.

Check out the eight different categories for the Best of Boudoir 2009. Select your favorite image by clicking corresponding number in the poll directly below the candidates and then hit VOTE. You can vote once per day and voting ends February 12 at midnight. Votes found in the comment area will not be counted.

First place winners in each category will receive a free 8×10 of their image and the winner of the Best of the Best and Steamiest categories will win a 16×20 gallery matted print.
