The Gift of Boudoir

So, you’re thinking about booking a boudoir session, but you’re not sure what to do with all the fabulous pictures that will result from the session. No worries—I’ve got plenty of ideas for when (and how) to present your fantastic photos!

Most likely, you’re planning the session with your significant other in mind. Any occasion when you’d be giving a gift anyway is a good time to give boudoir photography!

  • Wedding.  Give it to your groom the night before your wedding to build his anticipation for later on. Or give it to him on first night of your honeymoon!
  • You can give it to him as your formal wedding gift when you exchange presents, or you can have it delivered by someone else as the ultimate surprise!
  • Anniversary. After all, the traditional first anniversary gift is paper…
  • Valentine’s Day. What could be more romantic?
  • Christmas. It’ll be a great break from the nice but predictable technology and clothing presents.
  • His special birthday, or better yet your special birthday.
  • In honor of his favorite team winning the championship.
  • Just Because.  There’s no better way to spice things up!

Most of the boudoir sessions at Unveiled Portraits come with a Little Black Book, a 5×5 album with 10 prints from your session (or a credit for prints and photo gifts). Don’t stop there when it comes to finding creative ways to present your pics! You can choose something discreet (like an inconspicuous mini book) or something bold and artistic like a 16×20 gallery wrap. Check out the listing below to see some of our most popular items…

  • Mini-Albums/Accordian books
  • Love Notes Series
  • Hottie of the Month Calendar—starring YOU as the Girl for All Seasons!
  • Playing cards
  • A gorgeous wall portrait collection or a gallery wrapped canvas—to be displayed in your walk-in-closet or your master bathroom

It isn’t too late to start planning for the Holiday’s or Valentine’s Day. Our holiday boudoir shoot is November 18 and 19th in Appleton. There are a few spots remaining… book your session now.

Don’t Be Afraid to Bare All…

Before doing a boudoir session, I always try to gauge my girls’ level of comfort to get an idea of how they feel going into the session. This may surprise you if you’ve had a chance to check out any of the pictures in my archives, but a lot of women who arrange to do boudoir sessions are actually really nervous about doing risqué photos. While wearing your guy’s favorite jersey can make for some appealing pictures, you shouldn’t be covering up your gorgeous body the entire session. Part of what I do as a photographer is help you ease into more sensual poses and more revealing outfits as the session goes on. We’ll start with the outfit you’re most comfortable wearing (usually the one that’s least revealing) and poses that feel most natural, then slowly progress to sexier outfits and steamier poses. If you are willing to take chances bit by bit by removing a layer or revealing more of your voluptuousness, by the end of the session, you’ll be proud of how far you’ve come!

If you’re feeling nervous about revealing more of your body, take time to think about what’s holding you back. Many women are uncomfortable with their bodies. They feel like the more clothes they wear, the better they’ll look in the pictures. That is simply not true!  If you’re nervous about letting certain body parts see the light of day, much less the lens of a camera, reflect on what this client said about her experience:

“There is absolutely NO NEED to diet, groom, tan, etc. any more than you do on a normal basis because she made every part of me look flippin’ awesome. I’m never happy with my thighs, but she made me look so skinny! Plus, my skin looked so glowy and cool with the lighting she used. I only got to see a few on her computer before I left, but OMG. I look way better on film than I do in person.”

Don’t stress about trying to change your body before the session. You will love how you look in these pictures! If you release a confident vibe, you can’t help but be sexy.

The best part of boudoir photography is how it makes you feel about yourself and your body! By encouraging you break down the boundaries of what you’re comfortable wearing and doing, I help you see yourself in a new way. As one client said,

“This is like the coolest, most effective confidence boost, ever!! I bet this is how our husbands see us all the time – they see all the great stuff while us ladies sometimes focus only on the not-so-good. I hope there’s a way to tell ladies that this will boost their confidence as well as make a fantastic gift for their hubbies. WOOHOO!”

Woohoo! That’s exactly how you’ll feel once your session is underway. Finally, you’ll see yourself for who you really are—a beautiful, confident, sexy woman.
